Let their AMAZING Out at Officeworks

February 8 2016 By melbournemamma 3 Comments

In collaboration with Officeworks

I remember back to school time when I was a kid and how exciting it was to go shopping for school supplies.

My kids are the same – they love the thought of picking out their own things to take to school. So when I told them we were going to Officeworks, they were in the car before I could say “let’s go shopping” – I wonder where they get that from…….

Back 2 School with Smiggle

January 23 2014 By melbournemamma 1 Comment

My kids love Smiggle (and so do I), so when I told my daughter we needed to get some Back to School supplies, she immediately insisted that we go there.

Am I the only one who feels like I’m in a candy store when I walk in the door. I love how everything is colour coordinated.

My daughter has inherited my love of stationery, so together we go nuts in there.

Here are our top picks for school. …

Meyu – School Shoes for Cool Kids

January 20 2014 By melbournemamma Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but I feel like these school holidays have just flown by.

It just feels like a few weeks ago that my daughter finished her last day of Prep and began her transition to Grade 1!

It suddenly dawned on me last week that I need to get organised with ‘Back to School‘ goodies. So, when Meyu invited me to come along and check out their range of school shoes, I couldn’t resist.

I went into this book knowing very little about th I went into this book knowing very little about the Vietnam War, and it was a real eye-opener.

Kristin Hannah has an incredible gift for bringing history to life, and The Women is no exception. This emotional and powerful story follows the experiences of women who served during the war - stories that are often overlooked - and it left a lasting impact on me. I love historical fiction, and Kristin is truly a master storyteller.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Women can be heroes, too’. When twenty-year-old nursing student, Frances “Frankie” McGrath, hears these unexpected words, it is a revelation. Raised on California’s idyllic Coronado Island and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing, being a good girl. But in 1965 the world is changing, and she suddenly imagines a different path for her life. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she impulsively joins the Army Nurses Corps and follows his path.

As green and inexperienced as the young men sent to Vietnam to fight, Frankie is overwhelmed by the chaos and destruction of war, as well as the unexpected trauma of coming home to a changed America. Frankie will also discover the true value of female friendship and the heartbreak that love can cause.”

Have you read this or any of Kristin’s other books?

Your dedication to rehab and the patience you’ve shown have truly paid off. I’m so proud of you - 16 pts and 13 reb (+ a blood nose 🤧🩸) is an incredible return! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings 💪🏻🖤❤️🏀
