Attention LEGO lovers! Have you heard the good news?
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre has opened in Melbourne at the Chadstone Shopping Centre and I was lucky enough to go the opening.
Containing more than 2 million LEGO bricks, the LDC is the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
Within the LDC, you’ll find a 4D Cinema, a Kingdom Quest Ride (where you get to shoot bad guys with a LEGO laser gun), Merlin’s Apprentice Ride (pedal a LEGO cart and fly through the air), LEGO City Fire Academy jungle gym, LEGO Racers (build a LEGO car and race it down a ramp) and the gorgeous Heartlake City for all the LEGO Friends fans.
My favourite would have to be Miniland Melbourne which includes some of Melbourne’s favourite and most loved landmarks.
The is also a retail store (of course) which features a “Pick-A-Brick” wall, a Build a Minifigure section, and many limited edition and hard to find products.
For more information visit the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre website. I recommend booking tickets in advance to ensure you get the timeslot you want. Once inside, you are welcome to stay as long as you like.
